They say that "Food alone can be the reason for one to travel". Me being an avid food lover decided to cover more food miles by travelling to Malleshwaram which is actually the other part of the city for me from Whitefield. Ufffff!! had to do a lot of circuses to reach the place amidst the city's hectic traffic, but it was quite interesting too. Last Saturday, a bunch of us headed to District 6 Pub Brewery and Kitchen to experience their ongoing Sizzlers Festival which is happening till the September 30th. "Food is no fun unless there is drama in it" and District 6 has added that fun element with a mind-boggling Sizzlers menu, the place seems to be buzzing with people and the air is filled with smoke and mouth-watering fragrances.
District 6 is a microbrewery located at Malleshwaram, This sexy pub and most talked about brewery of the city is quite enough to be tranquil and hip enough to mingle with the crowd. The souls who would love to eat and drink your heart out this place will make sure that you enjoy your time to the fullest.
The pub itself is pleasant enough and is very much inviting with its kinda wooden rustic ambience. The liquor barrels as tables, huge brewery right in the centre of the pub with an open bar counter giving the diners a sneak peak of the mixologists at work, the wooden flooring and peppy music makes it the right choice for you to unwind with your loved ones. They have private/group spaces, and out-door seatings too, so pick your choice and get set to indulge. I have to mention this friends, District 6 sticks to traditional beer crafting experience which connects to the German-style brew.

After a hectic travel, Our gang was all geared up for a sizzling flaming meal, freshly crafted beers, cocktails and mocktails for a soul like me. We kick-started the lunch with some yummy and fresh Tawa Jumbo Prawns and beer samplers which had The District 6 Lager, Wheat, Dark, Wheat Strong and Radler. Most of them seemed to love the Radler, Wheat and Dark beer samplers and there went the orders to a bigger glass.
The sizzler festival has a lot of mind-boggling options which emphasized some bold Indian and Oriental flavours that will disappear before your eyes and explode in your mouth. The beef lovers and the pork lovers found their Beef Sukha and Coorg Pepper Pandi stealing their hearts while I was happily eating my Tawa Jumbo Prawns which had a coastal influence.

The Sizzler menu also had a range of artistically curated Oriental sizzlers. Chilli Basil Chicken was perfectly sauced up and cooked with fresh basil, this sizzler was a burst of flavours and kinda was a liking to me. There was this Roasted Chilli Hoisin Chicken which we all loved, juicy chicken roasted to perfection in the oven and wok tossed in hoisin sauce. This tasted perfect with surprising textures and that glaze of the hoisin sauce is surely a treat to your eyes too.

Then comes the signature dish of District 6, Dahi Kebab from the mighty Chef Somir Das, Now don't ask me what's so special in a Dahi Kebab? Trust me guys this was a show ruler, everyone loved it, perfectly done with hints of walnuts and mint and crumb fried, Do give it a try when you are in District 6

The menu has also got Sizzling spicy chicken and Veg Dumplings. I personally loved the Vegetarian Dumplings more because of its gorgeous green colour, the money bag shape with corn and spinach fillings were also yummm.

Vegetarians, don't worry you all have a wide range too, as I already mentioned their famous Dahi Kebab is a must try and from the sizzlers my favourite pick would be the Assorted Wok Tossed Vegetables as I loved the freshness of Water Chestnuts and Thai curry flavours, Potato and corn donuts with curried lime sauce was too good, loved the donut shape and the innovative thought behind this dish. Cheese and Vegetables stuffed Tandoori Aloo, Andhra spiced mushrooms, Jerk marinated cottage cheese and pineapple skewers were the other varieties in greens.

We finished off this lavish luncheon with a classic dessert The Sizzling Brownie with Ice-cream.

Overall, it was a tasty journey. This Promotional Sizzler Festival is on until September 30th and a not to miss event. So people in and around that area or food lovers who love food that spreads smoke, pop, snap and crackle do travel that extra mile and give it a try. Am sure you will love it.
