EXPERIENCE THE VIRTUE OF BEING LOCAL AT HEART @ GLOCAL JUNCTION, BANGALORE
Few days are unique, stands really different from other days. Such was one Sunday when we dropped into Glocal Junction, Bangalore. I love unique themes and I have a thing for brilliant and quirky ideas. So, The Crumb Stash set its mind on an exploration and that's how Glocal Junction landed for that Sunday. Every foodie will have a different way of exploring cuisines and restaurants and I definitely had Glocal Junction in my list because the place has a story, it's fun, it's quirky, flavourful, opulent and it's freakily romantic too.
About the place and it's Quirky ambience :
This junction called Glocal Junction, a quirky two level restaurant-bar situated in the busy streets of Indiranagar, almost seems to be a buzzing hub for the foodies.
Glocal has a very raw and industrial ambience with cement walls which looks unfinished, bare electric wirings, metal tables with quirky cutlery put in an aluminium tool box, aluminium plates which felt more like plates used in jails, lil disturbing,(but it was fun) and funky drink wares too. It was sheer excitement to see the cutlery with eating tools on one side and screw-driver, spanner, wrench and pliers on the other side. This casual laid back place has got a quirky amalgamation between the global and local flavours and One can truly experience the virtue of being local at heart.
The quirky nomnomnom tale:
When it comes to all things fancy, Glocal does it job perfectly. We were three for the lunch, one soul opted to indulge in the Sunday Brunch(it's me) and the other two happily sank their teeth into Glocal's whimsical delicacies. Caution here, once you see the cutlery and plates of Glocal its surely gonna tickle your bones.
We started off with the Tokri Chaat which is phyllo pastry cups, had tangy and yummy fillings of aloo chaat with a lavish sprinkling of sev and drops of cream. This Tokri Chaat got it's continental twist from the phyllo pastry cups.
Next, we tried their Barbeque Grilled Veggies, the combo of smoky grilled veggies and barbecue sauce will easily convince even the hardcore non-veg eaters too.
Do try out their Chicken Cheese Bomb, it's a chicken and cheese dhamaka with cheese stuffed in, coated with minced chicken and is deep fried, went well with the sweet and spicy sauce and a perfect company to your drinks.
Pizza's makes the Sunday brunch scenes look more romantic. So we indulged ourselves into some cheesy goodness. We picked the Meat Ultimo and Vegetable Ultimo.
Meat Ultimo was everyone's favourite, had delicious toppings of chicken meat sausages, chicken chunks and the right amount of cheese.
The Veg Ultimo had onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, broccoli, olives, paneer and tomato slices. We all loved the Meat Ultimo though. The pizzas at Glocal are wood fired pizzas.
Drinks :
Glocal's best part comes in now. The cocktails at Glocal are simply stunning. Their quirky drinkware's will never fail to amuse you. We tried out Basil & Watermelon Splash, Jack with Cola and G.L.I.I.T Lucifers Favourite.
All three had the right mixing, kudos to the mixologist. The best was the G.L.I.I.T Lucifers Fav, - Imagine a peppy glass of Long Island Iced Tea. Take a long cool sip. Listen to the ice crackle and clink. Is the glass part full or part empty? Take another sip, and now? It was so refreshing and peppy.

What can you expect?
Hop right into a bowl of hot soup of your choice and grrrr ... a lot more delicacies like salads, pita bread, hummus, baba ghanoush, pulao, biryani, parathas, burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, lip-smacking starters and desserts to fix your sweet tooth cravings. If this sheer variety of food in a casual laid back ambience can't fix your Sunday right then what else will ???
Heavy Brunching it was :
Almost all the items were yummy in the Brunch. I tried out this Kissmiss Pulao, Kolkatta Chicken Briyani, Malai prawns, Dal Fry, Paneer curry, Indian breads, Cake pops and so many more. I personally loved their buffet spread.
Desserts :
Hit that human who said pubs don't serve yummy desserts, Glocal proved it wrong with some stunning show stoppers. I have heard a lot about the uniqueness of Glocal desserts, So we had to give it a try in-spite of our heavy tummies to fix that crazy sweet tooth cravings. The Kalkatta Paan Cheese Cake and Firni Creme Brulee came to our rescue.. 😋😋😋.
The local flavours of Kalkatta Paan got its amazing twist with global flavours of some heavenly cheese cake stuffed in it. Am sure it's gonna be an award winning one. The Kalkatta Paan Cheese Cake is not just a normal dessert, it will surely blow you with its modern marvels and this is the kind of sweet experience one would love to cherish in their dining.
My Sincere Advice: Please make some room for desserts while dining. 😃, else you are gonna regret it.
